In addition to the current programmer study 2017 WeAreDevelopers also presents a specially developed by and for developers job portal that their needs better meet.

Programmers seem to be shy, this is the conclusion of the new WeAreDevelopers study. For example, only six percent of the programmers interviewed in the study are ever actively seeking employment and thus are looking for recruitment companies. This is countered by 41 percent programmers who would be willing and open for a job change. Eighty-six percent of all programmers in the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) & CEE region (Eastern Europe and the Balkans) would even switch countries for new employment. Especially popular new home countries are Germany, Sweden and Great Britain.
Software developers are a major factor in the growth goals of many companies, especially in the increasingly digitized economy. However, especially in Europe and especially in the DACH region many of these professionals are missing. According to the latest data from the European Commission, 52 percent of open developers have problems filling them, while in Austria the share is even higher at 61 percent. The current economic upturn further exacerbates the shortage of developers, according to WeAreDevelopers.
Job Portal for Software Developers In order to make it easier for programmers and HR professionals to find us in the future, WeAreDevelopers now presents the job portal devjobs – based on the model of a brokerage. There, according to Benjamin Ruschin, CEO at WeAreDevelopers, software developers should feel better understood through the platform they have specially programmed for them, and HR staff can better match their job offers with requests from devjobs for programmers. Above all, WeAreDevelopers wants to reach programmers and HR professionals through the unique selling point of the matching elements tailored precisely to software developers.
Because when asked why so few human resources find the right developers, the response of the WeAreDeveloper survey seems almost too simple: Lack of developer expertise with the staff. Developers want to talk to the HR manager on an equal footing. This includes, according to the evaluation of the survey, that they have at least a basic idea of programming. Because the lack of expertise often leads to concrete answers to the vacancy and the work environment can be answered by the staff bad to inadequate. The respondents would therefore prefer that personnel departments get a developer training or at least short-circuit with the appropriate department, what and who is exactly sought.
Eighty-five percent of developers believe that finding a suitable work environment is difficult. Current trends and developments such as home office, casual dress code, flexible or also trust working hours, which ensure a pleasant work environment, are also popular and in demand among developers.
