Traffic in Berlin: further restrictions on the train to Sturm – Berlin

Saturday, October 7th, 2017 | bitcoin updates

The damage caused by the "Xavier" hurricane also hinders the rail traffic in Berlin and Brandenburg during the weekend. Both the Berlin S-Bahn and the regional and long-distance trains are affected. On the S-Bahn, trains run on Saturday as follows: The S1 is divided between Botanical Gardens and Waidmannslust as well as between Hohen Neuendorf and Oranienburg. Between Waidmannslust and Hohen Neuendorf there are spare buses. The same applies to the southern section between the Nikolassee and Botanical Gardens, but because of planned construction works. The S2 runs between Lichtenrade and Priesterweg as well as between Südkreuz and Buch. In the south (Blankenfelde – Lichtenrade) and north (Buch – Bernau) spare buses run. For both lines there is a gap between the priest path and the southern cross. There, according to the information of the train, "replacement buses with very limited capacity". The S25 runs between Teltowstadt and Priesterweg as well as between Südkreuz and Schönholz. A substitute service was established in the northern part. It runs between the subway station Alt-Tegel and Hennigsdorf. The S3 runs between Köpenick and Westkreuz only in 20 minutes. Between Erkner and Köpenick drive to the night to Monday replacement buses due to planned construction work. The ringroad lines S41 and S42 continue to operate. However, the section between the Westend and Gesundbrunnen, which is interrupted because of planned construction work, can only be bridged with difficulty because the replacement buses provided there do not drive. They were deducted, according to the railway, to the outermost branches of other lines, where they are more urgently needed. The S45, S46 and S47 depart again on schedule, as are the S5 and the S75. The S7 runs between Ahrensfelde and Potsdam Hauptbahnhof only in the 20-minute-drive, The S8 and S9 drive again as planned. Massive restrictions in regional traffic In regional transport the restrictions are still massive. According to the train from Saturday evening the most used RE1 between Berlin and Fürstenwalde is interrupted. Also the similarly frequented RE2 between Berlin and Cottbus does not drive. According to the operator ODEG, replacement buses run, but by far not the usual capacity. The RE3 runs only in the northern part between Mecklenburg and Eberswalde, but not from and to Berlin.

While the RE4 runs regularly, the trains on the line RE5 only roll between Rostock / Stralsund and Berlin, but not in the southern part after Wünsdorf and Elsterwerda. The lines RE6 and RE7 are still completely adjusted the first trains between Hannover and Berlin on Saturday afternoon. The route between Hamburg and Berlin remains blocked all weekend; a restricted traffic has started on the detour via Uelzen and Stendal. The route Hanover-Magdeburg-Berlin should be free again on Monday. On the other hand, the railway reports the routes to Leipzig and Dresden as at least restricted again already passable.
