By Pietro Lombardi FRANKFURT (Dow Jones) – Telecom Italia's chairman, Arnaud de Puyfontaine, has expressed his confidence in the group's CEO, Amos Genish. "On behalf of the board and as CEO of the main shareholder, I confirm that I have full confidence in Amos Genish, with whom we share strategy and vision," De Puyfontaine said in an e-mail. He responds to a media report, according to which Genish could leave the Italian company after just a few months in office. De Puyfontaine is also CEO of French Vivendi SA, which holds a stake of almost 24 percent in Telecom Italia. "We are pleased with the progress made so far and confident that Amos will continue to restart TIM with its usual passion," he said. The newspaper Il Sole 24 Ore reported that Genish was considered a candidate for a position in a Brazilian corporation. In the e-mailed statement, Genish reaffirmed its long-term commitment to the Italian telecommunications company. In September, he was appointed CEO of Telecom Italia.
