The new graphics driver supports the high-end graphics card Titan V and should be optimized for the VR version of Fallout 4. However, the driver also causes some problems.

Nvidia has released the new graphics driver GeForce 388.59 WHQL. It supports the brand new Nvidia Titan V high-end graphics card with Volta GPU and brings adjustments for the virtual reality game Fallout 4 VR. The driver is available for download on the Nvidia website and weighs 398 MB (Windows 7, download) or 440 MB (Windows 10, download), depending on the operating system.
Compared to the previous versions, the 388.59 WHQL fixes display problems for notebooks that have activated the adaptive synchronization technology G-Sync via their GeForce GTX 1080 dedicated graphics unit.
However, there are a number of unsolved problems: With the Titan V, the computer display can turn black when playing Blu-ray movies, provided that the display resolution is higher than the Blu-ray resolution. A black screen can also occur when Titan V users repeatedly switch between different overclocked memory profiles.

For SLI-connected GeForce GTX 780 Ti Series graphics cards, the graphics card can refuse to output video if one DisplayPort and two DVI displays are connected at the same time. The use of the first variant of a Kepler-type titanium graphics card can cause an operating system crash if the card is used on a motherboard for AMD thread ripper processors. In general, there may be system crashes with Kepler graphics cards (GTX 700) when starting the game Star Wars Battlefront 2 in DirectX-12 mode. With the Windows 10 Case Creators Update, the color settings set in the Nvidia Control Panel are not preserved after rebooting the system. If you run the Heaven benchmark in windowed mode and start a video at the same time, you might be dealing with a blue screen.
The graphics driver GeForce 388.59 WHQL supports a variety of Nvidia graphics cards in recent years. It is suitable for the series GeForce 400, GeForce 500, GeForce 600, GeForce 700, GeForce 900 and the new Pascal series GeForce 1000 – and the aforementioned Titan V.
