An alliance of 19 industrial companies would like to promote the Mindsphere Industry 4.0 platform developed by Siemens.

The Internet of Things aims to digitize industrial production. With Mindsphere, Siemens has developed a cloud platform that, with open standards and open interfaces, will serve as the foundation for many industry 4.0 applications, while providing comprehensive data protection. One focus is the analysis of the machine data generated during operation and the construction of a digital twin for the simulation.
Siemens also founded the Mindsphere World alliance together with 18 predominantly German companies from the mechanical engineering and robotics sectors. Among others, the robot builder Kuka, the specialist for industrial automation Festo and Trumpf Machine Tools, will be there. The association aims to help members implement IoT solutions on Mindsphere and drive the development of standards and the Mindsphere platform itself. The goal is a comprehensive ecosystem around the IoT platform. The foundation takes place in the startup campus Mindsphere Openspace in Factory Berlin.
Siemens is not the only provider of an IoT platform: IT heavyweights such as IBM, Microsoft, Oracle and SAP, but also companies such as Bosch and General Electrics offer IoT platforms for the industrial Internet.
