A US startup has introduced a charging system for mobile devices, which does not require a cable or contact surface. The devices must be located only in the vicinity of the charging station.

At the start-up conference TechCrunch Disrupt, the company Pi has introduced their wireless wireless system Pi. Pi is supposed to charge Smartphones and tablets wirelessly and without a special pad over the Qi standard. The devices must be located only near the cone-like charging station, which translates the charging process via automatically oriented magnetic fields. According to TechCrunch, the device must be within a radius of about 30 cm.

Up to five devices should charge a Pi station at the same time.

Qi flagships
For example, the new Apple smartphones iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X are compatible with the Qi standard. Samsung's younger top-of-the-range devices also include wireless technology, including the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 +.
A Pi charging station should be able to charge up to five Qi-enabled smartphones or tablets at the same time – Pi speaks of "10 watts per device". The Pi can be pre-ordered on the website. The wireless charging system is expected to appear in 2018 and cost less than $ 200.
