In the US, the government and intelligence services have attacked the Russian anti-virus specialist Kaspersky and have systematically banted the software from Russia from the authorities.

After the accusation that the Russian anti-virus specialist Kaspersky helped Moscow's secret service in the spying out of US computers, the company promotes more confidence in the West. In a "Transparency Initiative" the source code of the Kaspersky software, including updates and updates of threat detection, is to be provided for independent review and evaluation. This is expected to begin in the first quarter of next year, announced Kaspersky on Monday. The reward for independent experts who find vulnerabilities in Kaspersky products has been increased to $ 100,000.
In recent weeks, several US media reports said Russian intelligence agencies could use Kaspersky installations to attack American computers to find and steal NSA's secret attack tools. An employee of the US interrogator had illegally loaded the tools on his private computer running Kaspersky Anti-Virus software.
In the reports it was mostly open whether the company should have cooperated with the Russian secret services – or whether the services could have misused their products. Only the Wall Street Journal wrote, citing US authorities, Kaspersky software had specifically searched for terms like "Top Secret" as well as names of secret US programs. Kaspersky always said that they had never helped an intelligence service in espionage. Now the company wants to set up three "transparency centers" in Europe, Asia and the USA by 2020, "to address security-relevant issues with customers, trustworthy partners and state institutions".
