            The mini-ITX motherboard Asrock J4105-ITX should be available for about 90 euros and is equipped with the Celeron J4105. The belongs to the new "Gemini Lake" generation of the so-called Atom-Celerons and has four cores with the microarchitecture Goldmont +. It brings significantly more processing power than the Goldmont cores without plus the Apollo Lake generation, such as the Celeron J3455.
The latter is in the mini-PC Intel NUC6CAYH and reaches in the Cinebench R15 181 points in multithreading, if all four cores together expect. The single core only scores 50 points. For the Celeron J4105 it is 270/73 points, that is 49 or 46 percent more.
This computing power in the Cinebench R15 is roughly equivalent to what the four-year-old AMD A8-7600 (Kaveri) does; The latter contains a much more powerful GPU. The results in 3DMark Fire Striek at least 1310 points, while it brings the Intel UHD 600 in the Celeron J4105 at a meager 481 points. Power Consumption Both Celeron J4105 and J3455 are specified with 10 Watt TDP. At idle, the board needed about 10 watts on an ATX power supply under Windows 10. Under full load with Prime95 it was up to 24 watts. These are about the same values ​​as the predecessor.
Ripening seasonAlready announced in 2017, the Gemini Lake generation still needs some maturity. For fanless mini-PCs as a 4K player, the chips seem well suited, as long as HDCP 2.2 and HDR actually come.
For economical office computers, these quad cores are less suited to the inner workings of the Atom family of tablet and embedded processors because they deliver little single-threaded performance. There is a dual-core Celeron with Core i technology better, which draws little power at idle – depending on the motherboard even less. (Ciw)
