The mainboard manufacturer Gigabyte publishes specifications to Z370 Aorus Gaming 7 and Z370 Aorus Ultragaming.

Today's announcement of the six-core Intel Core i7-8700K and five other coffee-lake chips for desktop PCs has also surprised the mainboard manufacturer. Some are now reacting and introducing their first LGA1151 motherboards with the Z370 chipset – such as Gigabyte's Z370 Aorus Gaming 7 and the Z370 Aorus Ultragaming.
As expected, there are no significant changes to the Z270 for Kaby Lake except the Coffee-Lake compatibility. The two boards are rather in the upper price segment – Gigabyte does not reveal prices so far – and are quite generously equipped. Especially eye-catching RGB LEDs; in addition, LED strips can be connected to post plugs for RGB / RGBW strips and for those with WS2811 / WS2812 controllers.
The 16 PCIe-3.0 lanes of the processor can split both boards into two PCIe x16 slots, each with 8 lanes. The third PCIe-x16 slot depends on four PCIe-3.0 lanes on the chipset; it is only usable if the second M.2 slot remains free, which uses the same flexible I / O lines.

Because the Z370 Platform Controller Hub (PCH) has no need for a USB 3.1 Gen 2 controller, Gigabyte is replacing the Asmedia ASM3142 on the boards. The Z370 Aorus Gaming 7 even has a second ASM3142 for the internal USB-C jack, which is used to connect a USB-C front panel in the housing.
Realtek RTL1220
As on many other current mainboards, Gigabyte also uses the Realtek sound chip RTL1220 on these first Z370 boards, the Realtek itself has not yet been documented. On the Z370 Aorus Gaming 7, Gigabyte also replaces the elaborate digital-to-analog converter ESS Sabre32ES9018.
Gigabyte also points out to use especially SMD resistors protected against sulfur. These "Anti-Sulfur Resistors" should live longer in areas with heavily polluted ambient air: Sulfur gas such as hydrogen sulfide can cause damage to silver contacts. The "dehumidifier" function, which was advertised more frequently a few years ago, seems to have come out of fashion again with mainboard manufacturers.
