Mozilla celebrates, because Firefox Quantum is well received by the users. Meanwhile, the "biggest update of all time" runs on 170 million devices. The Firefox apps also benefit from the attention.

Mozilla is in a celebratory mood, because the latest Firefox update "Quantum" is a hit: As the Foundation announced, Quantum has been installed on 170 million devices worldwide. The "biggest update so far" came faster "to over 100 million new users" as no release before, Mozilla is pleased. Every day millions of new users are added. Chrome users are especially curious: compared to the same time last year, the number of Chrome users who switched to Firefox increased by 44 percent.
Also among the mobile users registered Firefox neat growth: The Downloads of the mobile browser increased by 24 percent; Firefox Clear even recorded a plus of 48 percent. Both apps obviously benefit from the great interest in Quantum and the positive response from Facebook, Twitter & Co. According to Mozilla, a "big hit" is the screenshots tool with which users can take fixed pictures of websites. Since the add-on's release, over 30 million screenshots have been taken.
More and more add-ons for Quantum availableNot that many enthusiasts were (and are) numerous users, because since the Quantum update many add-ons no longer work. They are only allowed to use web extension APIs; old interfaces were switched off. After all, there are now more than 1000 extensions available for Quantum – the "add-on ecosystem remains strong," says Mozilla. The good feedback from the users has "incredibly encouraged" the developers. There will be the next update in the new year, Firefox 58 is expected for the 23rd of January.
