WIESBADEN (dpa-AFX) – Hesse plans for 2018 for the first time in about 50 years a budget without new debts. In the following year, 100 million euros of old debts will be repaid, according to Finance Minister Thomas Schäfer (CDU) on Monday in Wiesbaden. Under the line, the country has declared no new debt since four years, four years earlier than the constitution says of the CDU politicians. This is attributable to the country's good economic situation and bubbly tax revenues. For this and the past year, a budget had initially been planned, which provided for additional loans. In 2018 and 2019, the Landtag election will be doubled. It is the last draft budget of black-green in the current legislature period. It provides for a total of just under 28.5 billion euros for 2018 – four percent more than in the previous year. In 2019, this figure grew by about three per cent to 29.4 billion euros. / Löb/DP/tos
