Demanded coins: These features make a euro coin a hundred times more valuable | Message

Deformities and rarities are very popular with collectors and bring a decent amount of money.
Rare coins are in demand

For example, Grazia Patrizia, who was known as Grace Kelly, was immortalized on a coin. In 2007, on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of her death, the Principality of Monaco issued a special stamp depicting the princess and Hollywood actress. It was minted only 20,001 times, that is the smallest edition among the 2-euro coins. For collectors, this commemorative coin is very popular, so they pay several hundred euros to buy one.

Also rare are the 2-euro commemorative coins of the dwarf states Vatican City and San Marino. The limited edition does not come into circulation as roll goods but is only sold to registered dealers and private collectors. Special coins from other countries only reach these prices in the case of misrepresentations or stamp rotations.
Misprints extremely valuable

Curiously, it appears that just faulty coins can be very valuable. If you are fortunate enough to find such a coin in your stock exchange, it is definitely worth asking a coin dealer.

One of the most popular coins is the coin, which in collector's jargon is called "Old Map". These coins ignore the EU eastward expansion and show the old, smaller map of Europe. Mint prizes in Germany and Portugal had mistakenly used a false stamp and the coins were put into circulation.

If you go treasure hunting in your wallet, you might want to look for a one-euro coin minted on a 50-cent blank. Even a 2-euro coin from Ireland, which shows the marginal inscription of the Netherlands, can bring good money. Not quite as valuable – but very popular with collectors – are about French 10-cent coins from 1999, which have a fine Riffelrand instead of the usual wave edge.
Deformations are rare

The cause of incorrect embossing are material errors, stamping or machine feed. Usually the machines detect a mistake and stop the production. In addition, random checks are also carried out. But despite everything, sometimes faulty coins come into circulation – much to the delight of coin collectors. And who knows: Maybe you will soon discover a little treasure in your wallet.
