This is the sixth World Cup appearance for Colombia
Columbia did not qualify for the World Cup in 2002, 2006 or 2010, but returned in 2014, when the tournament was hosted in nearby Brazil. After winning its Group Stage with a 3-0-0 record and a +7 goal differential, Columbia knocked off Uruguay 2-0 in the Round of 16.
Colombia has James Rodriguez and a youthful, athletic center back pairing. But its central midfield deficiencies will limit its upside at the World Cup.
