Further leaks as well as reports of an inadequately secured IT infrastructure fuel the doubts about Deloitte's responsible handling of data.

After the announcement last week that Deloitte, a global consulting firm, became a victim of a hacker attack that may have lasted several months, websites and security experts have published further explosive information. These underline the impression that the company is acting in an easy-to-handle manner with confidential data.
Among other things, a reader of the news website The Register last Tuesday in a publicly accessible GitHub repository on a list with VPN access data and corporate data. In addition, the registry message indicates that a Deloitte employee posted access data to a company-owned proxy server on his Google+ page. There they had been publicly visible for more than six months. Several screenshots in the register message serve as proof of the data leaks. Both should be removed on the day of the publication of the report.
Security experts Dan Tentler also reported to The Register that, last Monday, 7,000 to 12,000 Deloitte hosts were found accessible via the Internet via Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and Server Message Block (SMB, Port 445). Some systems, according to Tentler, had additional security deficiencies such as unrecorded Windows updates and outdated software. So far, Deloitte has neither responded to press releases on the publications nor issued a public statement.
